City Shul School Covenant

In keeping with City Shul’s Covenant of Membership, we agree to:

  • Attend one in-class “Family Workshop”/child/year (5:45-6:45)
  • Attend 2 Family Learning Programmes: one in the fall and one in the spring. (Dates will be provided with the school calendar)
  • Attend City Shul services and/or events as follows:

JK-Grade 4:

  • 4 Shabbat services (Friday night Family Service or Saturday morning at anytime), OR holiday events (not including High Holidays, e.g. Simchat Torah, Chanukah, Purim etc), OR Family Programming activities (e.g. Havdalah Skate, Shabbat in the Park, etc), OR a combination.

Total: 4 times this year either Shabbat services and/or family events

 

Grade 5:

  • 4 Shabbat services (Friday night Family Service and Saturday morning at anytime), OR holiday events not including High Holidays, e.g. Simchat To- rah, Chanukah, Purim etc), OR Family Programming activities (e.g. Havdalah Skate, Shabbat in the Park, etc), OR a combination.
  • 1 Shabbat service on a Saturday morning

Total: 5 times this year with at least one being a Saturday morning service

 

Grade 6:

•  6 Shabbat (Saturday morning at anytime) services AND

  • 2 holiday events (not including High Holidays, e.g. Simchat Torah, Chanu- kah, Purim etc) OR Family Programming activities (e.g. Friday night Family Service, Havdalah Skate, Shabbat in the Park, etc)

Total: 8 times this year with 6 Shabbat services and 2 Family events

 

Grade 7 (BBM):

  • 8 Shabbat (Saturday morning) services with 2 on non-Bar/Bat Mitzvah Saturdays, AND
  • 2 holiday events (not including High Holidays, e.g. Simchat Torah, Chanu- kah, Purim etc) OR Family Programming events, (e.g. Friday night Family Service, Lag B’Omer bonfire, Mitzvah Day, Shabbat in the Park, etc) AND
  • 2 volunteer opportunities at the shul which will be provided, AND Fall BBM Special Shabbat service with the Rabbi (Which can count towards a non- Bar/Bat Mitzvah Shabbat Saturday)
  • Attendance at the BBM Shabbaton

Total: 8 Shabbat services, 2 Holiday/Family events, 2 volunteer opportunities, and BBM Shabbaton

We understand that should we not be able to fulfill these commitments by the end of the school year we will not be able to renew shul and school registration in the year following nor confirm a Bar/Bat Mitzvah date for our child.
