Israel Engagement

Throughout the year, City Shul hosts a variety of Israel Engagement events.  These include:  conversations led by academics and other experts; moderated  Israeli films; Zoom get-togethers with Israeli cultural and reform leaders.

Israeli Film Night with Rabbi Goldstein and Havdallah - Saturday, April 27, 7 PM

Please join us for Havdallah, followed by a film, kosher for Passover snacks, and post-film discussion facilitated by Rabbi Goldstein.

Synopsis - Within her small shop, Miriam Weissenstein (age 96) is the guardian of nearly one million negatives documenting Israel’s defining moments. As her “Photo House” is destined for demolition, she engages the help of her grandson Ben to ensure its survival. Life in Stills follows this feisty woman’s struggle to ensure its survival, and reveals a wonderful love story about a grandson’s commitment to his grandmother.

Israel/Gaza: A Conversation with Jon Allen, Rabbi Goldstein, and City Shul members - Thursday, May 23, 7:30 PM

Join us for a safe member-only space for asking questions, sharing emotions, getting information, seeking advice, and exploring - where we stand, where we might differ, and how we can support one another in this very difficult time.

The event is hosted by Jon Allen and Rabbi Goldstein.
